Looking for a way to connect with other Parents of children with Selective Mutism?
Being able to talk to other parents going through the Selective Mutism journey can be hard to find. Selective Mutism isn't as common as some of the other diagnoses and therefore doesn't have big support systems. It can become lonely and overwhelming without someone to talk to that understands what you are going through on a day to day basis.
Selective Mutism H.E.L.P. offers Support Groups that meet for 45 minutes, once a week for 4 consecutive weeks. Each support group is for specific ages so you can have real conversations with those that understand the challenges that are unique to your child's age. There will be a new topic of discussion each week which is chosen by the group. The discussions will be facilitated by Kelly, a mother whose child has overcome Selective Mutism, to offer advice, resources, and encouragement to all participants.
When you are part of a community that understands your unique situation, you feel validated, encouraged, and motivated to keep moving forward on the journey of helping your child overcome Selective Mutism.
